Monaara Leisure is a distinguished hospitality brand that is wholly owned by Monaara Holdings International Pvt Ltd. The company embarked on its business journey in the year 2019. Despite facing numerous challenges within the country, Monaara has emerged as one of the resilient companies that managed to thrive during that tumultuous period. In 2020, they expanded their operations by opening a second hotel in the picturesque region of Nuwara Eliya. Building on their success, they have now established their third location in the scenic town of Ella.

A Message from the CEO
The visionary behind Monaara is Kusala Karunaratne , seasoned professional in the banking and finance sector, holding the esteemed title of Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Chartered Global Accountants. He also possesses an MBA in Finance, along with a Diploma in System Audit and a Certificate in Treasury Operations. Furthermore, he has a keen eye for design, which infuses a unique charm into all his creations, ensuring that the Monaara Group stands out for its distinctive and comfortable offerings.
Sustainability Initiatives
Monaara Leisure is deeply committed to sustainable practices and has implemented several initiatives to minimize its environmental impact. They have ingeniously converted their waste into a BIO gas plant, which generates energy for cooking, resulting in a remarkable 80% reduction in LPG consumption. Additionally, they have installed solar panels across their hotels, significantly contributing to global energy conservation efforts. The by-products of their BIO gas production are utilized for cultivation, enabling them to offer an array of organic food options to their guests.
